TRANSCO Expands Fleet with 30 New Mercedes-Benz Buses in Kinshasa

TRANSCO Strengthens Kinshasa Public Transport with 30 New Mercedes-Benz Buses

The public transport company TRANSCO has received a new batch of 30 Mercedes-Benz buses on Monday, August 25, 2025, from Suprême Automobile, a Kinshasa-based vehicle assembly company.

This delivery marks the first tranche of 60 buses expected under a partnership between the Congolese Government and Suprême Automobile, aimed at boosting the capacity of TRANSCO’s fleet to meet the growing mobility demands of the capital’s residents.

TRANSCO’s interim CEO, Sylvestre Bilambo, welcomed the delivery and emphasized the importance of responsible fleet management.
“Since the vision is great for TRANSCO, each of us must ensure the protection of these state assets,” he said.

The message was reinforced by staff representatives. Bijoux Mwange, president of the union delegation, described the arrival of the buses as a much-needed relief for the company.

“This rolling stock has come as a godsend at a crucial time for TRANSCO’s survival. All staff are committed to serving the public and protecting these buses,” she said.

Speaking on behalf of the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Transport, Secretary General Jean-Marie Abolia reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening public transport and easing mobility for citizens.

With these new buses, TRANSCO expects to significantly improve transport services in Kinshasa, helping reduce daily travel difficulties for residents of the Congolese megacity.
