MSC’s Medlog Enters Ukrainian Logistics Market with Strategic Stake in Intermodal Operator N’UNIT

Mediterranean Shipping Company’s (MSC) inland logistics subsidiary, Medlog, has expanded into the Ukrainian market through a strategic acquisition in the country’s intermodal freight sector.

According to Forbes Ukraine, Medlog has acquired a 50% stake in N’UNIT (New Ukrainian Network of Intermodal Terminals), a local intermodal logistics operator, and a 25% stake in the cross-border Mostyska terminal. The deal is reportedly valued between $15 million and $30 million.

The remaining 50% of N’UNIT is retained by Yegor Grebennikov, co-owner of the TIS Group and founder of N’UNIT.

Grebennikov also holds a 25% stake in the Mostyska terminal. The other 50% of the Mostyska terminal remains under the ownership of Lemtrans, a Ukrainian logistics company associated with businessman Rinat Akhmetov.

N’UNIT operates four intermodal terminals located in Vyshneve (near Kyiv), Kharkiv, Dnipro, and the Lviv region.

The Mostyska terminal plays a key role in rail freight operations at the Ukrainian-Polish border, a crucial corridor for cargo flows into the EU.

This acquisition marks the first officially announced entry of an international logistics firm into Ukraine’s local rail freight sector since the onset of the war in February 2022.

The deal received regulatory approval from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) in March 2025.
