Zambia Airways and Motor Dealers Association Partner to Boost Regional Trade

Zambia Airways has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Zambia Motor Dealers Association to improve travel logistics for association members, marking a major milestone in supporting local businesses with affordable, efficient transport options.

Announced at a ceremony in Lusaka, this partnership enables Zambia Airways to offer specialized flights to key regional hubs like South Africa and Tanzania, directly catering to the needs of Zambia’s motor dealers.

Zambia Airways’ Commercial Manager, Norbet Bwanga, emphasized that this partnership will foster the sustainable growth of locally-owned businesses, particularly in the motor dealership sector.

The collaboration aims to streamline cross-border transactions for association members who often rely on reliable transportation for vehicle imports, inspections, and international meetings.

By leveraging Zambia Airways’ existing routes, Zambian motor dealers can now reduce logistical challenges and tap into new business opportunities across Southern and East Africa.

“Zambia Airways is dedicated to enhancing the growth and mobility of Zambian businesses,” said Bwanga.

“Through this partnership, we will help local motor dealers access key markets across the region, strengthening their capacity to expand within the automotive sector.”

His remarks highlighted Zambia Airways’ commitment to creating a competitive environment for locally-owned businesses.

Representing Tanzania, Mussa Mbura, Director General of the Tanzania Airport Authority, welcomed the collaboration’s broader benefits, which extend beyond travel convenience.

Mr. Mbura highlighted the potential for joint projects in infrastructure, trade, and tourism that could support economic growth throughout the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

“This partnership lays the groundwork for a more connected regional business community where trade opportunities are more accessible,” he remarked, underscoring its positive implications for regional trade relations.

Zambia Motor Dealers Association chairperson, Kelvin Kameta, expressed excitement about the MoU’s potential to address a longstanding issue of limited and costly vehicle transportation options from international suppliers to Zambia.

Kameta believes the collaboration will streamline car importation, ensuring faster, more efficient deliveries for the benefit of Zambian consumers.

“We’re thrilled to see this partnership improve our logistics and support our members in operating smoothly,” said Kameta.

The Zambia Airways and Zambia Motor Dealers Association partnership is a promising development for Zambia’s economy, enhancing access to international markets and reliable transportation links.

It reflects both parties’ commitment to providing Zambian businesses with expanded trade opportunities and establishing durable partnerships within Africa.

As this collaboration matures, it’s expected to inspire further joint ventures, bolstering regional connections and supporting the vision of an integrated African economy.
