The annual Shipwreckers charity event, a highlight on South Africa’s logistics calendar, once again succeeded in raising significant funds for deserving causes. Held in November, the event raised R33,000 to support various beneficiaries.
Organized by Land and Sea Shipping, this year’s gathering took place at the Jozi Gin Bar in Bryanston. Themed “Great Gatsby,” attendees from across the transport and supply chain industry embraced the occasion in dazzling 1920s-inspired attire, adding glamour to the philanthropic effort.
Proceeds from the event were distributed among three beneficiaries:
- National Sea Rescue Institute
- Johannesburg Children’s Home
- Reach for a Dream Foundation
The contributions from the lively and generous attendees made a meaningful impact, reinforcing the event’s reputation as a key charity initiative.
In true Shipwreckers fashion, participants competed for the coveted Best-Dressed Prize, celebrating those who fully embraced the theme.
Since its relaunch earlier this year, Shipwreckers has reclaimed its place as a standout event for the freight and logistics community.
Its growing popularity highlights the industry’s commitment to giving back, with each year’s event becoming bigger and more impactful.
