Qatar Airways, an award-winning airline, announced its expansion plans to include a new route connecting Luanda, Angola, to Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
This expansion aims to enhance connectivity and provide passengers with increased travel options within the African continent and beyond.
According to a press release issued on April 8, 2024, Qatar Airways highlighted the significance of this network extension, which will result in greater frequencies and capacity to Luanda, Angola.
The addition of Kinshasa to Qatar Airways’ destinations in Africa brings the total number to twenty-nine.
Starting from June 1, 2024, Qatar Airways will increase its weekly flights to Luanda from one to four, with the introduction of combined services to Kinshasa for the first time.
The new route will be operated using a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, offering passengers a world-class travel experience with 22 business class seats and 232 economy class seats.
Thierry Antinori, the Commercial Director of Qatar Airways, emphasized the strategic importance of this expansion for 2024.
He stated that it aligns with the airline’s objective of expanding its footprint in Africa and enhancing connectivity with the region.
Antinori further emphasized Qatar Airways’ commitment to Africa, highlighting the airline’s efforts to provide passengers with increased travel options and connectivity to various destinations worldwide through its hub in Doha, Hamad International Airport.
The inclusion of Kinshasa in Qatar Airways’ network reflects the airline’s dedication to improving connectivity and offering passengers in Africa greater accessibility to global travel opportunities.
