Staff at the Port of Lobito in Benguela province are attending a training session from Thursday to Sunday in the port city.
The session focuses on the implementation of the Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS) and is directed at managers, department heads, and sector leaders.
Manuela José, the Human Resources Director, emphasized the port’s commitment to good management practices, aiming to ensure compliance with and applicability of port policies and procedures.
She highlighted that implementing the IQMS reflects a continuous dedication to maintaining high quality in all activities at the Port of Lobito, from performance monitoring to supplier selection.
Trainer Chris Azoka elaborated that the IQMS is designed to ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and occupational safety standards within the organization.
“If a company holds certifications in environmental management, occupational health and safety, and quality control of operations, integrating these certifications is crucial for promoting continuous process improvement,” he noted.
This training represents a significant step towards enhancing the quality and efficiency of operations at the Port of Lobito.
