The burgeoning energy market growth in Lüderitz has spurred the need for expanded air capacity to facilitate daily service between Namibia’s capital, Windhoek, and the port city in the southwestern coastal desert region.
Introduced by FlyNamibia last July, the service has already seen approximately 5,000 passengers flying between Windhoek and Lüderitz.
French multinational TotalEnergies played a pivotal role in implementing the service, alongside its groundbreaking work in offshore exploration drilling.
FlyNamibia acknowledges TotalEnergies’ catalytic role in unlocking access to the southwest of Namibia, making the desert service feasible.
To meet the growing demand, FlyNamibia has added capacity to the daily express service and introduced dynamic pricing effective from April 18.
Additionally, to better serve customers, FlyNamibia has opened an office at the Waterfront development, located at the Old Power Station in Lüderitz.

TotalEnergies’ Country Chairperson, Laurent Roché, expresses confidence in the expansion developments, affirming their commitment to route sustainability, self-sufficiency, and ensuring affordable access to the Lüderitz community.
In addition to domestic services to Ondangwa, Katima Mulilo, and Oranjemund, FlyNamibia also operates routes from Hosea Kutako International Airport and Walvis Bay International to Cape Town International, the latter in partnership with Airlink. Moreover, regular flights from the capital to Livingstone in Zambia are available.
Looking ahead, FlyNamibia plans to launch another international service in July, connecting Windhoek to Maun in Botswana, further enhancing connectivity in the region.
