Angola’s Airport Management Company (SGA Angola) and Singapore’s renowned airport consulting firm, Changi Airports International (CAI), have inked a pivotal two-year partnership aimed at optimizing the operational efficiency and profitability of 16 regional airports across southern Africa.
The collaboration entails CAI leveraging its extensive experience to bolster air traffic development at Angola’s airports, with a strategic focus on enhancing domestic and regional connectivity.
Additionally, the partnership will spearhead targeted marketing initiatives to bolster passenger traffic across SGA’s airport network.
Eugene Gan, CEO of CAI, expressed optimism about the venture, stating, “There is vast economic and tourism potential awaiting exploration, and by enhancing air connectivity and airport services, we can unlock these opportunities.”
The partnership not only aims at boosting financial performance but also underscores a commitment to long-term human development and training initiatives, facilitated by CAI’s expertise.
Manuel Gomes, CEO of SGA Angola, emphasized the collaborative nature of the endeavor, stating, “Through the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and resources, we are paving the way for more efficient, safe, and sustainable airports.”
The signing ceremony, held on February 18 in Singapore, was attended by key dignitaries including Angola’s Secretary of State for Civil Aviation, Maritime, and Ports, Rui Carreira, and Changi Airport Group CEO, Lee Seow Hiang, underscoring the significance of the partnership in advancing regional aviation infrastructure and connectivity.
