Zambia Airways Partners with Motor Dealers to Boost Trade and Connectivity

Zambia Airways has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Zambia Motor Dealers Association, creating a strategic partnership to enhance travel logistics for association members.

Announced during a ceremony in Lusaka, this collaboration aims to support local businesses by offering efficient and affordable transportation solutions.

Under the agreement, Zambia Airways will provide targeted flights to regional destinations such as South Africa and Tanzania, tailored to meet the needs of motor dealers.

The MoU was signed by Zambia Airways Commercial Manager, Norbert Bwanga, who emphasized that the partnership would foster the growth of Zambian businesses, particularly those in the motor dealership sector.

He highlighted the challenges motor dealers face with cross-border logistics, such as vehicle imports and inspections, and underscored the airline’s commitment to streamlining these processes.

“Zambia Airways is committed to supporting the mobility and expansion of local businesses,” Bwanga said. “This partnership empowers Zambian motor dealers to access key markets in Southern and East Africa, strengthening their role within the automotive sector.”

Representing Tanzania’s interest, Mussa Mbura, Director General of the Tanzania Airport Authority, hailed the partnership as a milestone for regional cooperation.

According to Mbura, the collaboration will not only facilitate travel but also open doors to joint projects in trade, infrastructure, and tourism, fostering broader economic growth within the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

“This partnership establishes stronger trade and business links, paving the way for a more integrated regional economy,” Mbura remarked.

Kelvin Kameta, Chairperson of the Zambia Motor Dealers Association, praised the partnership for addressing longstanding logistical challenges.

He noted that the collaboration would simplify the importation of vehicles and enhance delivery timelines, benefiting both dealers and consumers in Zambia.

“We are excited to see how this agreement will streamline operations for our members, providing faster, more efficient delivery of vehicles,” Kameta stated.

This partnership is expected to bolster Zambia’s economic infrastructure by improving connectivity and access to global markets.

It aligns with Zambia Airways’ broader goal of fostering regional integration and economic growth, while also addressing critical logistical needs for Zambian businesses.

As the partnership matures, it is anticipated to inspire additional collaborations, contributing to stronger regional ties and advancing the vision of a unified and thriving African economy.
