Zambia Railways Limited (ZRL) has hailed the ongoing Africa Rail Conference in Johannesburg as a valuable platform to engage with key industry players and forge strategic partnerships aimed at strengthening Zambia’s railway system.
ZRL Managing Director, Eng. Cuthbert Malindi, speaking from the conference, said the Zambian delegation is actively involved in high-level discussions and networking sessions with global stakeholders.
He emphasized that a robust and efficient rail network is essential for reducing logistics costs, boosting regional trade, and unlocking Zambia’s full economic potential.
“The conference offers an excellent platform for industry players to shape the future of rail transport across Africa.
ZRL is using this opportunity to showcase investment opportunities in infrastructure, rolling stock, and signaling systems, as outlined in our strategic business plan,” said Eng. Malindi.
Held in Johannesburg, the Africa Rail Conference has brought together railway operators, investors, policymakers, and technology providers from across the continent and beyond to explore transformative solutions for the sector.
Malindi also stressed the urgent need for increased investment in Zambia’s railway system and highlighted the importance of knowledge exchange in driving operational improvements and infrastructure development.
