Residents of Lobito in Benguela province have highlighted the significant benefits of the Lobito Corridor, emphasizing the creation of new business opportunities and the development of tourism in the region.
Florinda Miranda e Silva, the general director of Lobito Regional Hospital, noted that the Corridor could also lead to the introduction of new medical specialties in local hospitals, improving healthcare services.
She believes that the Lobito Corridor will attract tourists, generate business, and create new opportunities for the region.
Miranda e Silva, who is also a urologist and hospital management specialist, emphasized that the Corridor presents a chance for creative entrepreneurs to capitalize on emerging opportunities, potentially creating wealth in the country. She also sees potential for fruitful partnerships with young entrepreneurs from neighboring countries.
Professor Raquel Lopes Tchipondia acknowledged Angola’s potential to make the infrastructure project a success, benefiting not only the country but also the broader Southern African region.
Civil servant Edilson Faria added that the Corridor would significantly boost the local economy and contribute to job creation.
