Grindrod Terminal Volumes Dip to 6.7 Million Tonnes in H1 2025, Eyes Growth Through Infrastructure Investment
Grindrod, the Southern Africa-based logistics and infrastructure multinational, has reported a slight decline in terminal volumes for the first half of 2025, with figures falling to 6.7 million tonnes, compared to 6.9 million tonnes during the same period in 2024.
The company shared the update in a trading statement released on Wednesday, without providing specific reasons for the dip.
However, Grindrod reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing throughput and optimising efficiency across its network of port and logistics operations.
Active across key regional trade corridors, Grindrod has recently intensified efforts to address transportation challenges, particularly in the mining and agricultural sectors, by working closely with both public and private partners.
Despite the minor decline in volumes, the company highlighted that overall operational performance remains stable, and that it is continuing to invest in infrastructure, digital systems, and logistics capacity to support long-term growth and regional integration.
A more detailed financial overview, including profit and earnings performance, is expected with Grindrod’s interim results later this year.
The group remains focused on supply chain reliability and corridor development as part of its broader strategy to position itself as a leading logistics partner across Southern and sub-Saharan Africa.
