Emirates Group Breaks Global Aviation Records with $6.2 Billion Profit

The Emirates Group has posted its strongest financial performance to date, achieving record highs in profit, EBITDA, revenue, and cash reserves, according to its 2024–25 Annual Report released last week.

“This positions the Emirates Group as the most profitable aviation group globally for the 2024–25 period, with Emirates airline achieving the highest profit in its history to become the world’s most profitable airline,” said His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group.

Both Emirates and its ground handling division, dnata, reported record revenues as the Group expanded its global operations.

Pre-tax profit reached $6.2 billion, an 18% increase from the previous year. Emirates airline alone posted a pre-tax profit of $5.8 billion, up 20% year-on-year.

Looking ahead to 2025–26, Sheikh Ahmed acknowledged potential global uncertainty but remained optimistic:

“While some markets are uneasy about trade and travel restrictions, volatility is not new in our industry. We will continue to adapt and navigate through these challenges.”

Emirates plans to expand its fleet with the delivery of 16 Airbus A350s and four Boeing 777 freighters in the coming fiscal year.

In 2024–25, the airline’s total passenger and cargo capacity grew by 4%, reaching 60 billion available tonne-kilometres (ATKMs), nearly returning to pre-pandemic levels.

Emirates SkyCargo delivered standout results, transporting 2.3 million tonnes of freight—up 7% from the previous year.

The addition of two new Boeing 777 freighters and two wet-leased Boeing 747 freighters enabled the carrier to meet rising global demand.

Cargo yield per freight tonne-kilometre (FTKM) increased by 10%, aligning with pre-pandemic market levels. To further strengthen its position, Emirates SkyCargo has ordered 10 more Boeing 777 freighters and expects to operate a fleet of 21 freighters by December 2026.
