Eiffage Wins €100 Million Contract for Matadi Port Container Terminal Expansion

The French construction company Eiffage has secured a €100 million contract for the renovation and expansion of the Container Terminal at the Port of Matadi in Kongo Central, located in the southwestern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The announcement was made through a press release from the company on Monday, January 20, 2025.

“Eiffage, through its marine civil engineering subsidiary, has been awarded the contract for the renovation and extension of the container terminal at the Port of Matadi. The tender was issued by Matadi Corridor Container Terminals (MCTC),” the statement revealed.

The project includes the construction of a new quay measuring 350 meters in length and 30 meters in width, positioned in front of the existing quays 5, 6, and 7. It also involves the installation of three 20-meter-wide access walkways across the current quay, the development of an operations building and workshop, and the renovation of a seven-hectare logistics platform.

The contract, expected to span 27 months, will be executed in phases to ensure the quay remains operational during construction.
