Mozambique’s Beira Port Achieves Record 40,691 TEUs in August 2025, Boosting Regional Trade

Cornelder de Moçambique has announced that August 2025 was a landmark month for its Container Terminal at the Port of Beira, which processed 40,691 TEUs—the highest monthly volume recorded this year.

The figure represents a 20% year-on-year increase, compared to 34,027 TEUs handled in August 2024.

“This milestone further reinforces the Port of Beira’s position as a strategic hub for both regional and international trade, underlining its critical role in the economic development of Mozambique and neighboring countries,” the company stated in a LinkedIn post.

The Port of Beira is a vital logistics gateway in the region. Its advantageous location and operational efficiency make it a key hub along the Beira Corridor, serving landlocked countries including Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
