Angola and Hungary have signed a Bilateral Air Services Agreement in Budapest, paving the way for the launch of direct flights between the two countries, with a particular focus on establishing a Luanda–Budapest route.
The agreement also allows for potential expansion to other destinations across Central and Eastern Europe.
According to a press release, the agreement was signed on Wednesday by Angola’s Minister of Transport, Ricardo D’Abreu, and Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó, during an official visit by the Angolan delegation to Hungary.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ricardo D’Abreu emphasized that the agreement strengthens cooperation between the two nations and “opens the door to diversified economic opportunities.”
He described it as a “significant step that reflects the growing importance of bilateral relations and the alignment of their strategic visions.”
Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó stated that the agreement marks a new chapter in Hungary’s relationship with Angola, “a country with which Hungary shares common values rooted in mutually beneficial cooperation.”
