Angola Surpasses African Average with 83% in ICAO Civil Aviation Safety Audit
Angola achieved an impressive 83.14% in the latest International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) safety audit, marking a significant improvement from the 46.85% recorded in 2017.
This score places Angola above both the African average of 66.70% and the global average of 72.01%, ranking it 4th among the 24 African states, just behind Kenya, Rwanda, and Tanzania.
Minister of Transport Ricardo Viegas D’Abreu expressed satisfaction with the result, stating, “This historic achievement should be replicated in other strategic sectors, including road, rail, logistics, and maritime. With commitment, competence, and cohesion, it is possible to reach high-level goals and strengthen confidence in the country.”
The milestone enhances Angola’s international credibility and ensures safer, more reliable air operations for passengers and users, in line with the highest global standards.
