Africa Global Logistics (AGL) has commenced operations at the AGL Lobito Terminal, a container and multipurpose facility located at Angola’s Port of Lobito.
The terminal, secured through an international tender in October 2023, boasts the capacity to handle over one million tons of bulk goods and 100,000 TEU containers annually.
Designed to enhance the connectivity of the Lobito Port platform, the AGL Lobito Terminal facilitates the trade of minerals, agricultural products, and various commodities.
AGL has invested 200 million euros in the terminal’s development and has partnered with the international shipping line MSC to streamline transit times to European and American markets.
Philippe Labonne, President of AGL, emphasized the strategic importance of the Lobito Terminal in advancing Africa’s economic competitiveness and improving living conditions.
He highlighted the terminal’s role in facilitating market access and supporting industries vital to the global economy along the Lobito Corridor.
