TAAG (Linhas Aéreas de Angola) and RTX Pratt & Whitney Canada have finalized a six-year engine maintenance agreement, as announced in a press release by the national airline.
The comprehensive contract covers maintenance for 13 PW150A engines along with a spare engine held in inventory.
It includes a Fleet Management Program (FMP™), tailored by Pratt & Whitney to address TAAG’s specific operational requirements.
Nelson de Oliveira, President of TAAG’s Executive Committee, expressed confidence in Pratt & Whitney Canada’s FMP program, recognizing the manufacturer’s track record in optimizing efficiency and productivity for TAAG’s PW150A engines.
The statement highlighted the suitability of the Dash 8-400 aircraft, equipped with PW150A engines, for TAAG’s needs, boasting a capacity of approximately 75 passengers, high fuel efficiency, and overall reliability.
Irene Makris, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Pratt & Whitney Canada, emphasized TAAG’s crucial role in providing regional connectivity, facilitating passenger mobility to major urban centers and international destinations.
The FMP package procured by TAAG incorporates Pratt & Whitney’s cutting-edge fuel analysis technology, including the FAST™ diagnostic and prognostic solution, which enables real-time data analysis post-flight.
PW100/PW150 engines power a significant majority of regional turboprop aircraft today, offering notable fuel efficiency with up to 40% less fuel consumption and 50% fewer CO2 emissions compared to similar-sized regional jets.
