AD Ports Group Hosts Iraqi Delegation to Bolster Bilateral Economic Ties

AD Ports Group (ADX: ADPORTS), a prominent global facilitator of logistics, industry, and trade, recently hosted an esteemed Iraqi delegation led by His Excellency Mr. Razzaq Muhaibas Al-Saadawi, Iraq’s Minister of Transport, alongside influential figures from various sectors.

The meeting, held at Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa Port, focused on crucial projects aimed at enhancing international transport, logistics services, economic cooperation, and mutual interests.

The bilateral discussions, attended by His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, UAE’s Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and His Excellency Dr.

Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE’s Minister of State for Foreign Trade, among other dignitaries, centered on initiating partnerships for strategic initiatives.

These include the Transports Internationaux Routiers (TIR) International Road Transport System and Iraq’s ‘Development Road Project’, which aims to connect the GCC Countries and Europe via Iraq.

His Excellency Mr. Razzaq Muhaibas Al-Saadawi highlighted the significance of strengthening economic ties between Iraq and the UAE, emphasizing ambitious investment opportunities within the transport and logistics sector to revitalize the economy.

His UAE counterpart, His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, echoed the sentiment, expressing optimism about advancing relations between the two nations and enhancing regional and global competitiveness.

Similarly, His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi emphasized the UAE’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Iraq, aiming to bolster economic relations and increase trade volumes between the two countries for mutual prosperity.

The meeting concluded with both parties reaffirming the importance of sustained dialogue and collaboration to expand their partnership, serving the common interests of both nations and their citizens.

The recent collaboration builds upon AD Ports Group’s Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the General Company for Ports of Iraq (GCPI) in 2021, aiming to foster greater cooperation within the transportation and maritime sectors.

Bilateral trade volumes between Iraq and the UAE reached AED 104 billion in 2023, underscoring the significance of their economic partnership.
